"Outfit; Pretty Odd, Skeletons and Flowers"

Late outfit post again, I can't seem to be able to post them on time. I blame the fact that whenever I turn on the computer I am always distracted by the new Panic at the Disco and The Hush Sound albums that I have on repeat!

Music killed the blogger, it seems!

Thanks to my friend and personal photographer, Andy B., I finally have pictures outside the house and at university. This is me trying to make the Tortured Med Student white coat look chic and probably failing miserably.

Flying pose, trying to be tres Vogue Paris :P

The infamous white coat!

dress: Mango, sweater: Zara, belt: Zara, trench coat: H&M, tights: unknown, boots: Musette

I am officially on holiday this week seeing as my country is hosting an international NATO summit so all schools and universities are closed, hooray! So I will have time for more posts and hopefully more outfits soon.

"Rusian Blondes and Smoke"

"Simplement Couture"

There are models that I like and models who just blow me away all the time. Sasha is part of the latter category. I wasn't always her biggest fan but she just grew and grew on me and now I she is stuck forever in my top five.

I love this editorial, from the lighting to the black-and-white photos, the dresses are so beautiful (Mr. Valentino will always have my soul on a silver platter if he wants it!) and Sasha is stuck between 'beautiful' and 'scary', something that always works for her.

Now I just have to get my hands on the actual french Vogue, fingers crossed!

"Outfit; Biochemists & Real Love"

Outfit I wore on Sunday night for a movie with the Boy. The gray bangle is one I "customized" myself with a black marker: "Real Love, Ridiculous, Inconvenient, Consuming, Can't-Live-Without-Each-Other Love". Sex and the City and Jessica Cushman frenzy go well together.

dress: Kotton, belt: Thrift, tights: Accessorize, bangle: thrift, bracelets: Accessorize, boots: Musette.

Still sick today, so the only important buys I have made consist of a Starbucks Nonfat Latte, a book (Requiem For a Dream by Hubert Selby Jr.) and a gorgeous bangle that I got for about 60% off from Parfois accessories shop. I had my eyes on it for a long time but never felt the need to actually spend the full price, so I guess that waiting really does pay off in the end :)

Also, I suddenly feel the need to change my future profession after reading Gala's post Themed Outfits for Intellectuals. Seeing as there isn't an outfit for aspiring surgeons, I might consider becoming an illustrator, even if just for the cute Mikey Mouse hat!

"Faeries in my Shop"

I am sick with the flu, so no outfit post today because I really don't think that PJs and cups of tea are in this season ;D

Checking Nylon.com (note to self: next time I leave country for holiday, buy this magazine) I stumbled upon this article about the fashion house Only Hearts. And even though the thing that attracted me to the article in the first place was the Bat For Lashes reference, after checking the pictures I really really like the clothes.

They're flirty and fun, nothing too over the top or complicated, but lovely nonetheless. Now I really wish I bought things online, because this and this and this too would look very nice in my closet!

In other news, I'm sure everyone and their grandma's neighbor's dog knows about the gorgeous Prada movie, Trembled Blossoms, made for the S/S 2008 collection. What I didn't know until today was that there's a comic book after the movie too, complete with Sasha P. look-a-like wood faeries:

If I ask nicely, can I get a copy?

"Outfit; Rubber, Prints & LiLo"

Outfit Friday 14th

A very early and very long Physiology course this morning so comfy was the way to go. And seeing as the weather has been going from sunny to rainy in 2 seconds flat, it was the perfect day to wear my gummy Nine West boots that I adore. After a week of running around in nothing but heels, my feet have been thanking me all day.

So apparently Lindsay Lohan is doing her own leggings line. I am not sure if I should be laughing at what seems like a really dumb idea or crying at what seems like really a dumb idea. Hmm, I think I'll be sticking to laughing (for now...)

Something I enjoyed reading today was 50 fashion questions you should be asking right now. Very nice read, the author is funny and compared to most of the articles of this type she isn't trying to shove trends down anyone's throat (too much) so that is always a plus!

I really hate when I read fashion articles that instead of offering information and suggestions they just go and force (more-or-less) certain "rules" on you. I mean, fashion has always been, for me at least, something personal and tailored to every person's needs. So why then should I 'throw away my skinny jeans, cause bootcut is so in!' or get rid of my precious bag because 'big bags are out, get a clutch now'. Maybe bootcut makes me look fat and maybe I have to carry a laptop, gym clothes and half a dozen books with me all day, what then?

For heaven's sake, I am a fashionable girl, not a goose getting ready to become a Vogue editor's foie gras dinner!

In the words of the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow:

"They're more like guidelines anyways"

"Outfit; Smiles and Pirate Skulls"

The thing is that I love dresses, but it wasn't always so. I was a jeans girl a few years back and then I sort of started liking my legs and became a skirt girl so of course now I have so many of them in my closet that it's kinda ridiculous not to wear them.

Since the weather is getting better and better I decided to pull out the little jean mini skirt today. A very casual look seeing as I'm just going to the gym and then for coffee. The white t-shirt is my mom's but she's never worn it so I finally got inspired to try it out (I totally blame FashionToast for this, not that I'm complaining though :D) and the bag is the newest member of the family.

Have a happy week :D

"she has flowers in her hair and on her dress and on her mind"

Miranda Priestly: Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.

Even though I realize that florals for spring are the most used cliche out there, I can't help but love them nonetheless. My brain has fallen in love with anything related to or resembling flowers, from flowery dresses to flowery headbands and flower-print scarves!

So of course my heart leaped with happiness when I saw this wonderful editorial from the April edition of Elle UK. Because nothing goes better with flowers than animal print belts, edgy spring booties and punk-pop bangles, really!

So of course my wardrobe had to be introduced to flower prints as soon as possible:

One flowery dress, check!

One flowery skirt, check!

Left to right: Dress, skirt, bed spread.

Now hopefully the weather will get the message and bring out the sun.
